A new date – Friday 6th May – has been announced for our upcoming awards ceremony and gala dinner at The Centenary Pavilion at Leeds United.
The change of date follows the announcement that Elland Road will be hosting the Rugby Challenge Cup men’s semi-finals and women’s final on the original date planned, Saturday 7th May.
Every year we celebrate individuals, groups and organisations who are going above and beyond to make a difference. This year marks a double celebration, as our ceremony will recognise the finalists and winners for both 2020 and 2022.
Melanie Malcolm and Jo Maltby, co-founders of The Yorkshire Choice Awards, said: “We are thankful that our suppliers and sponsors have been extremely supportive with the new date. We hope all our guests can still make the event, however if they have any problems, they can contact us directly for help. The countdown is now on, and we are determined to make this event a night to remember!”
The charity partner for this year’s ceremony is the MND Association, which focuses on improving access to care, funding research, and campaigning for people living with, or affected by, motor neurone disease.
A special award category for 2022 is named in honour of rugby league legend Rob Burrow, who in 2019 at the age of 37 revealed he had been diagnosed with MND.
Director Debbie Howard at The Big Bamboo Agency, which is sponsoring the award, commented: “Rob has done so much to raise awareness of MND and it is a pleasure and privilege to have our name associated with this award in his honour. The Yorkshire Choice Awards host a fantastic event and we can’t wait to see who the winners are this year!”
