Heather was born without limbs after her mother took the anti-morning sickness drug Thalidomide.  However, her motto is "Nothing is impossible in life" and she has proved that.  Tell Heather she can't do something, and she treats it as a challenge to be proved wrong! Not only has she competed at World Championship level in carriage driving with her beloved horse Barney and completed a 12,500 feet parachute jump but she is also a successful producer and reporter at ITV Yorkshire. She often gives talks to schoolchildren about her condition and when asked if she would like to be normal she answers, "Normal is whatever you make it".  Recently Heather took on a new and difficult battle, that of Ovarian Cancer, for which she is currently having treatment with her usual positive outlook.  "I've overcome a lot of hurdles" she says, "this is just another blip".
