Our Background


The Yorkshire Choice Awards were founded by Jo Maltby and Melanie Malcolm who saw an opportunity to recognise and raise awareness of local people and independent businesses that are inspirational in their own way or in the markets they serve. The Awards demonstrate that through adversity and courage, light can shine through in so many different ways and give the inspirational nominees, finalists and winners, the exposure and applause they deserve. Since 2016 we have grown considerably, celebrating the best from Yorkshire and raising money for Charity along the way. We are proud to have supported Martin House Children’s Hospice, The Danny Jones Defibrillator Fund, St Gemma’s Hospice as well as Bethany’s Smile.
