Yorkshire's Star Choice

The Yorkshire Choice Awards was founded by Joanne Maltby and Melanie Malcolm who saw an opportunity to recognise and raise the awareness of local people and independent businesses that are inspirational in their own way or in the markets they serve.

Volunteer of the Year 2019 - Lauren Doherty, Knaresborough

The Awards demonstrate that through adversity and courage, light can shine through in so many different ways and give the deserving nominees, finalists, and winners the exposure that is so deserving.

Jo Maltby said "“In the last four years, The Yorkshire Choice Awards has grown considerably, way beyond anything Mel and myself expected and we are thrilled that the event is now the pedestal to celebrate the very best of Yorkshire businesses and residents. We are proud to have supported charities like Martin House Children's Hospice, The Danny Jones Defibrillator Fund, St Gemma's Hospice and Bethany's Smile to date".

The Yorkshire Choice Awards are proud to support Simon on the Streets in 2020, a fantastic charity offering street-based support for those in need. Their teamwork across Leeds, Bradford, and Huddersfield providing front-line emotional and practical support for those who need it.

Melanie Malcolm Said " Simon on the Streets are an amazing Yorkshire based charity turning lives around. They tailor their support to each individual offering a better future to anyone who is homeless. They offer people opportunities to achieve a sustainable change and we felt it fitting to partner with them for our 2020 awards"
