The Yorkshire Choice Awards announce their 2023 Charity Partner

The Yorkshire Choice Awards are proud to support The Leeds United Foundation, the official charity for Leed United Football Club. The organisation aims to use the power of sport to educate, motivate, inspire and support people throughout the local Leeds community - a catalyst to improve people's lives.

WE WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

WE WILL MARCH ON TOGETHER

Aaron Tillyer, Partnerships Manager at The Leeds United Foundation said:

“We’re absolutely delighted and incredibly grateful to Yorkshire Choice Awards for selecting The Leeds United Foundation as this year’s charity partner for an awards event that recognises and celebrates the inspirational people and successful independent businesses in our communities. The awareness and funds raised will make a huge difference to the communities that we support.”

A CATALYST TO IMPROVE PEOPLE'S LIVES

From its inception as Football in the Community to the 12 years delivering as a charity, it has offered a range of sports, education and health activities across all age groups. The Foundation has continued to grow year-on-year with activity in 2021/22 delivering:

  • Nearly 43,000 beneficiaries supported by the Foundation

  • 20+ different programmes delivered in year – providing more than 500,000 hours of activity

  • We spend over a quarter of our time in Primary & Secondary schools – supporting with education, employability and physical activity

  • Just over half of our activity focuses on sport and participation for all – disabled football, walking football grassroots youth teams, our elite girls academy and the school holiday activities we run.

Yorkshire Choice Awards founders Jo Maltby and Melanie Malcolm said:

"Our Awards demonstrate that through adversity and courage, light can shine through in so many different ways and by selecting The Leeds United Foundation as our charity partner for our 2023 celebrations we believe they align with our Yorkshire Choice ethos. The foundation educates, motivates and inspires people through communities - a catalyst to improve peoples lives. A perfect synergy with the amazing nominees we have had the pleasure of discovering since our launch in 2016. The plethora of opportunities the foundation offers for all generations is exceptional, from educating young children to supporting veterans has to be commended and their work makes an enormous difference to all".

HAVE YOU NOMINATED YET?

Nominations close in December, so if you know someone who deserves to be celebrated, tell us about them now. We are searching for those that demonstrate that through adversity and courage, light can shine through in so many different ways.

They may have saved lives or changed lives through their own story or highlighted a local charity by fundraising. Some may have overcome adversity, whilst others are just the best in their field.

As a people's choice awards, you not only choose who is nominated but also who wins!
