Yorkshire Payments announced as headline sponsor for 2018 Yorkshire Choice awards

The Yorkshire Choice awards is delighted to announce Yorkshire Payments as its headline sponsor for 2018.

As you can tell by the name, Yorkshire Payments is a company with its roots firmly bedded into our county.

The firm, which is based in Brighouse, is helping to boost our region’s economy by providing businesses with the means to benefit from the rise in popularity of card and contactless payments, using hand held and contactless card terminals.

Want to get to know Yorkshire Payments a bit better? Here are some interesting facts about the business:

  • Yorkshire Payments was set up in 2013 by managing director James Howard, after he got bored (and became too ambitious!) and disillusioned with the service levels of larger companies

  • An impressive 3,500 businesses across Yorkshire use Yorkshire Payments card solutions

  • The company processed a staggering £400million through its systems between March 2017 and April this year!

  • All Yorkshire Payments customer service calls are handled right here in Yorkshire, by a team of 30 experts based in Brighouse

  • There’s even an office dog, Luna, who is expecting puppies any minute!

Speaking about why the company chose to become this year’s headline sponsor, James said:

“As a company, we believe deeply in the strength of collaboration and networking to bring people together, open doors and help the Yorkshire thrive.

“Yorkshire Payments gives time to and sponsors several local sports clubs and upcoming sporting individuals, to help them succeed, and we also supply our expertise and advice to charities to help them lower costs and increase the reach of the vital work they deliver.

“When the opportunity came up to become the headline sponsor, it was a no-brainer for us. The Yorkshire Choice awards fits our ethos of celebrating and promoting all that is great about Yorkshire perfectly, and we couldn’t be more delighted to be on board. Good luck to everyone involved this year!”
