Yeadon entrepreneur nominated for prestigious honour

A WOMAN who started a successful business from her spare bedroom has been nominated for the Yorkshire Choice Awards.

Leena Parmar, from Yeadon, set up her own recruitment company ten years ago with no previous experience. Now Citrus Connect employs six members of staff and is making a name for itself in the industry.

Ms Parmar has been nominated for Business Woman of the Year and Inspirational Individual of the Year at the awards.Voting ends on January 31 and the winners will be announced in March. Anyone wanting to vote can find a link on the Citrus Connect website or on the Yorkshire Choice Awards website.

Ms Parmar studied international politics and completed a PGCE (postgraduate certificate in education) before starting a career in fashion.

But after experiencing some personal challenges she decided to follow her childhood dream of becoming an entrepreneur.
