A Halifax restaurant has been awarded a top Tripadvisor award and has glowing reviews on the review site.


Pride and Provenance on Horton St, Halifax, has been awarded a Tripadvisor Traveller’s Choice Award for 2021 and has a perfect five-star rating from 259 reviews on the site.


The award is another trophy in their cabinet which also contains a Traveller’s Choice Award for 2020 and a Yorkshire Choice Award for Customer Service.


Pride and Provenance is a café, wine bar and restaurant, located just next to the Piece Hall and focuses on traceable, farm-to-fork food, specialising in charcuterie.



Reviews on Tripadvisor and Google Reviews were glowing, and the establishment has a perfect 5-star rating from 259 reviews on Tripadvisor, and a 4.8 from 152 Google Reviews.


The enthusiastic Tripadvisor reviews mean that it is the best-reviewed restaurant in Halifax, and is in the top five for West Yorkshire.


On Tripadvisor, Cecilia T said: “Beautifully presented fresh ingredients and generous portions. The highlight was the tomato and [burrata] salad as a bruschetta which is the best l have ever eaten! Highly recommended.”


And user HED2333 said: “I can honestly say it’s the best sandwich I’ve ever had!”


The owners, husband and wife team James and Melanie Thompson, were delighted to receive the awards and revealed big plans for the future.


Mr Thompson said: “it is an absolute joy to learn our fantastic team has been recognised for its customer service excellence.
