Barnsley ‘stars’ up for Yorkshire Choice awards



A number of Barnsley people have been nominated for the 2017 Yorkshire Choice awards.

The nominations have been revealed for the various categories – and features Barnsley-based businesses and business people, including teenagers Eve Lodge and Rose Dyson.

Eve, who is the owner of bespoke bunting business Barmy, was shortlisted for the Yorkshire Choice Young Achiever award last year, and has now been nominated in the Business Woman category.

She is joined in the Business Woman section by Laura Davies, who runs The CopyCat Party Company, and Michelle Bailey of Active Response Security Services.

The CopyCat Party Company are also in the Independent Business category, and are joined by Direct2Mum, while Active Response Security Services are also up for the Customer Service Award.

Rose Dyson, who runs Pura Cosmetics, has been nominated for the Inspirational Individual award, where she is joined by other Barnsley people Michelle Bailey and Lisa Walker.

Paula Maguire, of Barnsley Hospital NHS Trust, has been nominated for the Kate Granger Award for Outstanding Contribution.

The Yorkshire Choice awards are decided by public vote, so the Barnsley public, get voting for Barnsley people!

Public votes do not close until 1st March 2017 – and the awards dinner takes place at The Centenary Pavilions, Elland Road, Leeds United FC on 1st April 2017.
