Ann Hough, Huddersfield Town FC
In an industry dominated predominantly by males, Ann Hough is one of the longest-serving female Board members at a football club in the country. Ann is also Operations Director at Huddersfield Town. She joined Yorkshire’s only Premier League club in 1993 initially as PA to the Club Secretary, Ann then moved up to become Club Secretary six years later and excelled in that role and was appointed to the board in 2007. With the Club's recent promotion to the Premier League, Ann's Director of Operations role has expanded, with the extra pressure of the eyes of the world on Huddersfield Town Football Club.

Sean Jarvis, Huddersfield Town FC
Sean Jarvis joined Huddersfield Town in 2006 before joining the Board of Directors in June 2009. He has been primarily involved in developing new income and sponsorship activities. Sean has also been instrumental in improving relations between the Club and its fans since his arrival as the driving force behind the formation of one single supporter's group - now known as the Huddersfield Town Supporters Association and he's always known to be open and available to meet fans and businesses alike. He's the mastermind behind the #WagnerRevolution campaign, which saw the Club increase attendances by 100% and helped to turn unfashionable Huddersfield Town into a Premier League club.

Charitable Business of the Year 2018
Motive8 North have supported BTRS for almost two years now and their passion and motivation is second to none! Personal Trainer, Lucy Harrison took on the epic challenge of flipping a tractor tyre in Leeds City Centre 2000 times, the team continues to support the charity by taking part in some extremely challenging activities to raise funds and awareness of BTRS! These have included a 100k cycle, taking part in the Leeds Total Warrior, Flat Cap Friday static cycle challenge and the epic burpees challenge; completing as many burpees as possible in 1 hour....in which Richard completed 905!

A highly accomplished and versatile presenter and journalist Gaynor has hosted a whole variety of programs both at home and abroad. Gaynor is often found supporting charity events where she is asked to host. She's a warm friendly presenter that interviews her guests with a caring nature and compassion.

Benjamin Carpenter
Ben Carpenter's adoption journey began more than 10 years ago when he became one of the youngest gay men in Yorkshire to adopt a child. It had taken him around three years to convince the authorities that he was serious about adopting and, more importantly, had the maturity and skills to be a good Dad. Ben has four children all with complex needs, he dedicates his life to supporting his children, he is selfless and caring and encourages people to come forward and adopt. There are currently 2000 children in need of a forever family and by Ben doing what he is doing promoting adoption nationally is helping children find a loving home.

Local Fundraiser of the Year 2018
Daniel Gray
Co-chairman Daniel Gray joined the Physcap charity committee 19 years ago as a young volunteer. Physcap is a Yorkshire based charity dedicated to improving the quality of life for children suffering from severe physical disabilities. Daniel is a thoroughly dedicated fundraiser alongside Co-Chair Elliot Rich and a team of selfless volunteers who fundraise to support families with children that require life-changing operations. Their fundraising efforts help provide specialist equipment for children to play together regardless of any disability they may have. One of their largest achievements was raising £225,000 which enabled them to build the PhysCap Playground at Temple Newsam Park in Leeds.

Sporting Achievement of the Year 2018
Huddersfield Town Football Club
Starting the 2016/17 season as one of the favorites for relegation, Huddersfield Town Football Club went against all odds to secure promotion to the Premier League in 2017. Working on one of the smallest budgets in the league, the Club, through its #TerrierSpirit beat some of the biggest football clubs in British football to get to Wembley for the SkyBet Championship Play-Off Final, where Christopher Schindler scored the winning penalty to send the club to the Premier League. It is not just on the pitch where the achievement was made - the hard-working staff behind the scenes ensured that the Club was prepared to move up to the next level, meaning a complex summer of work ensuring that the club was ready to compete.

Becky Joyce
Becky Joyce has been working as part of a project feeding and clothing the homeless for 3 years. This started out as ad-hoc trips to feed homeless people in the centre of Leeds and has expanded over the years to several trips a week to feed and clothe the homeless. Becky has involved the community in this project and many local businesses have come together to donate and support. Becky is now setting up a Non-Profit Organisation called Homeless Street Angels to formalise this charity work and her aim is to open a house for the homeless called Abi house named after her late Sister. Whilst tirelessly volunteering Becky is a busy Mum of 3 and runs her own business.

Young Achiever of the Year 2018
Alfie Clarke
Alfie Clarke is 9 years old has been in the Yorkshire Soap Emmerdale for nearly 8 years playing Arthur Thomas. His acting has gone to a new level dealing with his characters Dad's death due to dementia, and the consequences of dealing with the after-effects of the death. Because of his involvement with Dementia, he wanted to offer support, so he did a Sponsored Swim raising approx. £5400 for Alzheimer's Society and became a Dementia Friend.

Best Kept Secret Clothing retails womenswear and accessories at a shop in Kirby Overblow, Yorkshire. Customers visit from all over the county and are always greeted with a warm welcome from business owner Fiona Martin. Best Kept Secret supports charities with fashion shows across the region and Fiona is also Founder of Friends of Alfie Martin Charity which works towards improving and maintaining the best possible facilities for neo-natal care in Yorkshire working closely with specialist hospital units.

The Kate Granger Award for Outstanding Contribution 2018
Catherine Malia
Catherine is a Nurse Consultant at St Gemma's Hospice. As an accountable clinician, Catherine leads our Nurse Led End of Life Care beds. Catherine pioneered these beds to open hospice care for patients without specialist needs. As an expert clinician, Catherine has worked tirelessly to ensure patient choice for those people wishing to die at the hospice with less complex needs. She is an advocate for quality holistic patient care as well as an outstanding leader, teacher and role model. The beds have increased the care at the end of life to more patients who do not have a cancer diagnosis. Catherine's drive and passion are endless with the needs of the patients and those important to them at the centre of everything she does.

The Yorkshire Choice Special Recognition Award 2018
Heather Clark
Heather was born without limbs after her mother took the anti-morning sickness drug Thalidomide. However, her motto is "Nothing is impossible in life" and she has proved that. Tell Heather she can't do something, and she treats it as a challenge to be proved wrong! Not only has she competed at World Championship level in carriage driving with her beloved horse Barney and completed a 12,500 feet parachute jump but she is also a successful producer and reporter at ITV Yorkshire. She often gives talks to schoolchildren about her condition and when asked if she would like to be normal she answers, "Normal is whatever you make it". Recently Heather took on a new and difficult battle, that of Ovarian Cancer, for which she is currently having treatment with her usual positive outlook. "I've overcome a lot of hurdles" she says, "this is just another blip".
Heather sadly passed away in June 2018, our thoughts are with all her family and friends. Deeply missed by us all.
